The city got the depot, but MKT and now UP refused to sale the land. The station is in bad shape, but the inside is ok. Part of the roof was ripped off when a semi got to close to the depot. The city has plans to restore it, but for now, Boyce Gin is renting it for their feed and hay storage.August 1998, The City of Waxahachie forced Boyce Gin to start on the extensive repairs on the ex-MKT Waxahachie depots roof. The lower quarter of the tile roof around the depot was REMOVED! The tiles were stack in bundles on the south side of the depot. Most of the lower rafters were exposed. The end that was ripped off by a feed truck did have a wooden beam supporting that end corner of the roof. The front of the station that faces the tracks, had stacks and stacks of new 1x4's laying there. Some of them were already nailed up onto the front face of the rafters. | |
